Well, a day after Lime Flea Market and I am still exhausted.
Started out the day at 12pm (by this time, most of the stalls were already set up and customers were already starting to browse) and quickly got into setting up the stall.
My neighbour stall (2 stalls share an umbrella) had already set up their stall earlier and I was abit displeased that
(1)They had put their table right under the shade such that half of our table was in the hot sun (to which I politely asked them if they could move their table, which they did)
(2)they hanged their earing holder right in the middle of the umbrella, blocking my view from inside the stall (to which the organizer reprimanded them and they removed it away)
Other than that, I was quite pleased with the stall location coz it was 2 stalls from the main entrance, near the traffic light, which is good as we saw crowds non-stop until almost closure time.
But it was kinda crammed yesterday, I think there were alot more stalls than when I last visited it during the "Handmade Theme" sometime back in July. The opposite neightbour was not so kind either. They set up 4tables! Almost blocking the pathway infront of us. But luckily, it didnt stop the crowd.
I would say the day went by very fast, a glance of my watch said it was already 3pm. Well maybe because it started at 1pm instead of 11am like at MAAD.
Sales, not too bad, (of course if you include the taxi fare to and fro, it doesnt make sense at all) but at least I covered the rent (especially since we split the rent and cost between us, Yanling and me) Sad thing was, I didn't sell any of my brooches!!!!! Even my Kanzashis dont sell! Sob! Sob! Infact I mostly sold off my button earstuds (which is not too bad coz i was hopping to clear my overwhelming stock of buttons afterall) and a polka dot clutch in black and white. Yanling didnt sell any of her tees too, but she's got some orders though and lots of people picked her namecard too.
I guess the crowd is not the matching crowd, just like Dorothy mentioned before. At least at MAAD, the people dont bargain a $1 earstud to $0.80 juz because of a bit of discoloration! Sheesh! Well, we are Singaporeans afterall and bargaining is just us, I guess?
However, I am glad that a lot of the people actually picked up my namecard . Hope it will bring in more traffic to my website which reminds me that I have to do something with it. Lately, when its been giving me "error" messages. So does anyone know of a resonably priced web designer who can do shopping cart and maybe my namecards too?

My experience at Lime was "Tangy" -some sour parts -and some sweetness too.

These are Kanzashi Gift Sets which comes with a nice white box and matching ribbons for sale at S$25 per set. The 6cm version without box is also available at S$20 each.

If you ask me, I still prefer working with felt in making Kanzashi as compared to satins. Felt are easier to handle and it holds. Satins are much more difficult to handle and manipulate because of their soft nature. But of course they look much more exclusive with that sheen. Other fabrics that I had tried making Kanzashis with are Organza and Cotton. Those are ok to work with.
On another note, Ive been sleeping late every night all due to my working on a "big" project. The dark circles under my eyes had been very unforgiving. At this point, I don't think any amount of concealer will work. They end up looking grey. Maybe I will take a short break after the "big project".
