I love craftwork.
Especially needlework.
In Primary School, it was in the form of a simple crosstitch.
At Primary 6, I embroidered a white cotton hankerchief with my Bestfriend's name "Su". It was a parting gift.
In my teens, I made my very first handsewn sling bag out of the leftover Chinese Brocade Fabric that my mum made into our cushion covers. At sixteen, I successfully finished a whole set of the traditional Baju Kurung and wore it with pride.
I guess my greatest influence would be my mum. I grew up as her "assistant", taking down measurements in an old school jotter book whenever my aunts come to make her Hari Raya garbs.
In 2004, after being introduced to a very cool craft forum, Craftster, my passion for craftwork was rekindled.
I started creating brooches out of felt and fabrics. I love brooches. Makin', Exchangin', Collectin', Wearin'. My collection started to pile up. And then I thought, why not sell them? At least I have a reason to spend insanely on craft supplies....*wink* And so with my friend's help, here is my baby:
Born in Dec 2004, it's a simple showcase of the brooches I have for sale.
Recently, I bought my very first sewing machine, a Pfaff 1536.

I am all excited thinking of the journey ahead for us. Nothing will be too daunting for us now, not even a pin prick....
Me and my Pfaff.
And SEW IT STARTED ...
